Settling In

Last Thursday was Allie's first day of preschool. I couldn't even bring myself to blog about it. Don't get me wrong. I am so excited for her, and she is absolutely loving it. That is the part that is hard for me I guess. That she loves it. I miss that little girl that didn't want to leave my side for a minute. But I am so excited to see her grow up into this big girl who loves her teachers and her new "pestool". Today was easier on me when I dropped her off. It is natural for her and becoming natural for me and I am so happy she is happy! Here are a few pictures from her big day.

My Little Mess!

Joshua trying to take sister's lunchbox!

Who are you and what have you done with my little girl!

And this my dear friends, is accomplishment. Sadly,so many stay at home mom's do not feel accomplished. They feel like they do not contribute to anyone or anything. However, I have been blessed by an Almighty God not to feel that way. To me, sitting with my two babies in the chair reading a book at the end of a very busy day is the very definition of accomplishment!

Tuesday is DONE

Yesterday went pretty smoothly considering everything that it entailed! Allie was a little jittery when she had her hair cut, but looks much better now. Thank goodness most of the chunks missing are underneath some hair that was mercifully spared. If I blow dry it, you have to look really close to notice the whack job underneath the fluffy hair.

Joshua was a trooper yesterday. He was hamming it up for all of the nurses and patients showing off his walking ability despite that huge blue cast on his leg. He would fall down, look up, and with a big smile say, "uh-oh." Of course everyone loved that and he knew it. He did not care for the saw that removed his cast at all. Nor did he care for the x-rays that followed. But, I was able to calm him rather quickly and everything looked great on x-ray.
Today however we headed back to the doctor because Joshua had a terrible reaction to mosquito bites. He is actually on an antibiotic by mouth and by application for the next ten days. I am hoping and praying that this is it for a while. I AM TIRED!

Pre cast removal and hair cut!

Allie will be starting school tomorrow and is very excited! Say a little prayer for my brave girl tomorrow, and for Mommy too!!!!

Beautiful Fall Day; Not So Beautiful Tuesday!

Friday we had such a wonderful time playing outside, enjoying the nice cool weather we have been experiencing lately. I took the sweetest pictures and wanted to share.

However, today unfortunately will not be so pleasant. Allie decided to cut chunks out of her hair yesterday! IT IS AWFUL! Her reason, she wanted to look like Mr. Scarecrow. Well, she is scary alright. Michael and I FREAKED out and probably traumatized the poor child for life. We have been telling her how cute she is because we do not want her to be embarrassed, but it is AWFUL! So, today I have to take her to the Salon to a professional because I was not about to touch that hair; and see if she can make some sense out of it. After this lovely appointment, we will head to have Joshua cast removed! Although this is a glorious occasion and I am so happy for him to get that thing off, it will not be a pretty process. After they bust out the saw in front of my one year old to remove the cast, I am sure there will be xrays. So pray today, not necessarily for my children but for MY sanity!!!

Open House

We had Allie's open house yesterday for her preschool. It took her a minute to warm up but in no time she was going around the room checking everything out and playing with the other children. I cannot believe my baby is going to be in preschool!!! That was the cutest thing I have every seen. Little preschoolers in their pigtails walking around and trying to figure eachother out. Joshua was in his stroller having the best time watching everyone run around and play. I have decided to just accidentally leave him there one day and see if anyone figures it out:) I really like Allie's teachers. I even voluteered as a sub and helper whenever needed. HOW MUCH FUN!!! She starts next Thursday and I am so excited!! I think she will really benefit from finally having little friends her own age.

Wow, is it September already!!! Me and the kiddos spent the latter part of August in Florida with my family and we had a wonderful time. Allie loves her cousins and her cousin-dog Lexi! She keeps on saying, "can I go back to Ninny's and Pa's?" She always has such a blast.

This Thursday is Allie's openhouse for her preschool. I am really starting to get a little bit nervous. What if she hates it, do I keep sending her? What if she loves it so much that she no longer likes being home with boring old mommy? I hope she falls somewhere inbetween! Anywho, say a little prayer for Mommy and Allie as she starts this little adventure next Thursday!

I was blessed with a wonderful day off yesterday thanks to Mimi. She kept Allie and Joshua for about five hours while I went shopping for some much needed clothes. I weigh four pounds less than when I became pregnant with Joshua and still had to buy a bigger size. GO FIGURE! Anyway, I was so tired of being depressed about not getting back into some of my clothes so I solved that problem!! Having a day off was wonderful and I feel rejuvenated as a mommy!

Less than a week for my little man to get his cast off. HALELUJIAH! He is actually walking with it on but I know it has to bother my big boy.

Well, that is all that is going on with us right now. Let's hope and pray that nothing eventful, like o say a broken bone, happens this week!!!
